Microsoft has recently announced extended scalability to Azure for health organizations, specifically for the operation of the EPIC®’s Chronicles* (ODB) operating database, increasing its capacity to 65 million global links per second (Greef/S), 171% of the new MBV3 VM series.
Cooperation with EPIC® spends far beyond the cloud infrastructure – for several products and skills part of Microsoft Cloud for health care. EPIC® and Microsoft have expanded their cooperation and integrated advanced AI technologies such as Microsoft Azure Open Service and Dax Copilot into EHR®. Integration helps to provide clinical knowledge AI-Powred, administrative process and improves physician’s productivity through features such as noting and automated coding proposals.

Mercy digital transformation to Azure has allowed it to connect previously modified data and use several Microsoft services such as Azure Data Lake to lead to positive business results. For example, by seizing team care with intelligent dashboards and insight into the factors that determine the patient’s release, Mercy was able to significantly reduce the duration of the patient’s stay. Mercy employs Azure AI’s intelligence for scanning and recognizing information about the patient’s insurance cards, which are then automatically updated on their EHR records.

Customers like St. Luke’s University Health System, harvested the benefits of their EPIC® to Azure migration by using several synergies in Microsoft portfolio, such as Microsoft’s interoperability with EPIC®. Security is primarily important in solving patient records and customers such as Jefferson Health, migrating their EPIC® environment on Azure with high confidence with Microsoft Defender for detection and response to the endpoint.
